Te 2026 CRSPC Conference, Beneath the Surface: Configurations and Treatment of Narcissism, provides directly applicable professional learning for counsellors, psychotherapists, dance movement psychotherapists and other mental health practitioners. It will focus on six configurations of challenging narcissistic dynamics which have been identified from the presenters’ analysis of childhood developmental trauma, specific unmet relational needs, and regularly occurring affective sequences. An understanding of how difficult clients can become treatable through an integration of an Intersubjective Self Psychological perspective with a somatic/movement, affective, and developmental understanding of relational dynamics will be demonstrated. Theoretical discussions will cover an overview of narcissism and its configurations. Clinical case presentations will illustrate the challenges and successes of intersubjective self-psychological treatment
